The Members of the Salem Volunteer Fire Company hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. After much thought and deliberation, SVFC has decided not to hold our Annual Chicken & Rib Dinner this year.
This would have been our tenth year. Due to the increase in food prices and with many out of work, our ticket prices would have to be raised significantly and we do not want to do that. The Townspeople have always supported us and our fundraisers. Our members do not want those struggling during these difficult times to feel obligated to come out for the event. Nor do we want those that truly cannot afford tickets during this time to miss out. There are too many questions and uncertainties at this point in time. One thing is certain, we are a community and we are strong. Rest assured, we are still here and are actively responding to emergencies. The Salem Volunteer Fire Company has been in existence since 1943 answering the calls for help. There have been many other storms, blizzards and pandemics. Many challenges that were faced.
